Second year of Backloggery! Happy to announce that I completed my Goals'n'Cookie this year!

I played a lot of games for the first two quarters, then I started college and my pace dropped to almost 0

Creo que a este paso ni este año ni el siguiente ni nada... El Zampón disfruta más viéndome sufrir de otras formas, imagino que se aburría viéndome jugar a videojuegos y decidió ponérmelo difícil para tocarlos xD Parece que contigo es más clemente, pero no te duermas en los laureles, lo que te queda podría llevarte muchas horas...

tl;dr: It depends!

The experience can change when streaming, for sure. It all depends on the level of focus you personally have. There are some games I won't play on stream because I want to get lost in the world and take my time on things, which may not always be the right speed for a stream. Some streamers do actually do this longplay style and they are successful with it.

There are also some games where you want to share the experience with friends. In those cases streaming actually makes it better. I played Elden Ring on stream and fighting bosses and exploring became more fun because I had people to watch with me. Also I like when I can laugh at a glitch or funny moment with peeps.

For example I play RDR2 off and online. Because SO many funny moments can happen just from random encounters alone. But more immersive stuff like hunting and riding in the wilderness, I keep to off stream
