Sweet! Just got my copy of Hyrule Historia today! It's an awesome book and fairly lightweight at only 475 FUCKING POUNDS!!!

Good grief this book is heavy, and packed to the absolute brim with cool behind the scenes stuff. Though I still wish they would have delved a bit more into the unanswered trivia and beta elements. It's also a bit heavy on the Skyward Sword coverage, but as it was originally a companion book to that game it gets a pass.

It's a fantastic buy for any big Zelda fan and I will definitely be giving it a few more read-throughs.

NEXT UP: Obtaining The History of Sonic which looks to be of a very similar high quality!

Dragon Quest has the simplest menus of all! Arguably to a fault, even!

Oh yeah, it totally blew me away. I never expected that in their announcements. I was hoping for something on the new Zelda, and if we were lucky, maybe something about Majora's Mask on 3DS, or the rumored remake/sequel for. Wind Waker was a complete shock! And I'm surprised by how far along it apparently is, if it actually make it out on the fall.

You're right, it definitely is. There's a lot of Japanese-influenced stylistic elements for Zelda. Also, I'm totally excited for the HD version announced for this fall. Can't wait!

Exactly! I couldn't agree more. They are perfect for kids (although Mononoke maybe for a little older kids), but there's enough "higher level" stuff there for us grown-ups to do some thinking. And honestly each and every one of them is like that, from Lupin III to Ponyo--I haven't seen Arriety yet, but it's on my Netflix. I assume it's just like the others, though.

In Mononoke, the "bad guy" is almost ... well, whatever the opposite of Moderation is. Like you said, Eboshi went too far into her capitalistic Industrialization. The gods went too far in their environmentalism. Even Jigo (or rather, the Emperor he was working for) were going against moderation in his quest for long-life. They all disrupted a delicate balance.

Also, and this is a bit silly, but for some reason, Koroks in Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker have always reminded me of Kodama in Mononoke. I know they don't really look alike, but I think it has something to do with their facial expressions and association with trees. Every time I see one of them, I think of the other. Weird, huh? Of course, they both amuse me endlessly.

Yeah, I know what you mean! My favorite is definitely Princess Mononoke, but they're all just great. I actually haven't seen Nausicaa, and it's been years since I've seen Totoro and Kiki. I've always just enjoyed how Mononoke talked about so many different things, was such a great action movie, had such quality leading characters ... just great! Spirited Away is probably my second favorite. Oh! At the museum, I got a stuffed Totoro--he's now sitting on my anime/game collection next to the pikachu.

Yeah, when I play co-op games with my wife, I rarely ever play without her. So I'll play Shadow of the Colossus and Fire Emblem when she's not around. Gotta keep busy! ^^

Heck yeah! I'm really excited about it. She's not super-interested in video games, so she she just sticks to co-op, and from what I hear, this is really ideal for us.

Also, might I add: I just LOVE your Ghibli theme! Fantastic! On our honeymoon, my wife and I went to the Studio Ghibli museum in Tokyo, and that place was just so flippin' cool. Which movie is your favorite??

Well, it's super traditional, make no mistake! However, I'd say the series often represents the best of the really simple turn-based RPG. Most of them are moderately tough, and run anywhere from 30 to 100 hours. My favorite is VIII for the PS2, it's the game that made me fall in love with Dragon Quest. But it's also the second-longest. Next would be IV... I played the DS version. It's shorter, about 30 hours. I've really come around to enjoying a good back-to-the-basics RPG, and Dragon Quest is, more often than not, top of that class!

You can say I've been quiet, activity-wise too. Lately I don't have much time for gaming (either because I'm busy doing other things, like following/catching up on all the different TV shows I watch/ watching films, or because I just don't feel like picking up the controller, and currently still being unemployed, I got plenty of time to do whatever. Any gaming I do seems to be late at night or early in the morning, and I usually only make one single BL update. I spend more time here replying to comments and updating my theme weekly. Oh, and you haven't been forgotten, by me at least.

I'm behind the times with current games too. I can't afford to buy the latest games (stopped paying full price a while ago) so I wait till games drop way down in price, playing catch up and being late to the party.

Adamist, back from the dead (again)! And no, I'm not god (yet).

Though it may appear I'm playing 13 games at once, I'm really not. Most of the games on the list I haven't touched in several months meaning to go back to them eventually (which is why I leave them on the Now Playing list as a reminder). I'm currently doing a 5-game rotation with MUA, Vanquish, Bulletstorm, Arkham City and NIER (when I decide to start it). The last Sonic game I played was Sonic Generations, and I 100% completed it. Since then, no other Sonic games played (shocking, I know, but I'll get to Colors and Riders eventually).
