Are you by any chance using the official Discord for that game to group up? If you need anybody to play one day down the road, I got you. I'm very experienced at this game on both roles. But surely you can get as much experience as I if you're using the game's Discord.

I also plan to feature that game during a Discord groupup on my birthday next month.

I have a new PC and it's not a potato!!!!! Yay~~ :3 I should be able to run every game I own, now. Indeed, Dark Souls 3 ran at 1080p at max graphical settings with no issue, so I should be fine!!!

I really do not understand why a writer or developer would create a protagonist in a slow character driven drama and make them the biggest asshat around. I can only think that whoever wrote Root Double was inspired by the surging popularity of sarcastic characters. The problem is, though, they only work as an addition to the main cast, and when used sparingly. Nobody wants to listen to a self-absorbed wise-ass 24/7. It could also work if used for character growth, but it is definitely risky because you might alienate the player before the character actually wises up. I know Luke from Tales of the Abyss is very divisive for this reason. I personally liked him because of the growth, but I definitely think it was a risky move. If not for the rest of the cast really holding the game together until he grows up, I would have hated Abyss.

This is more of a personal preference as well, but I also do not get jerk love interests in otoges for that reason. I do not find the MC being called dumb or an idiot to be cute or endearing. I disliked Shin's path in Amnesia for that reason alone, and I put the game down for months after finishing his path because it made me dislike the game to such an extent. Bless Sweet Fuse for not having a jerk option. I get some people like it, but it's SUCH a slog for me to play through those kinds of routes. (T w T)

I will of course give Root Double a fair shake since I am a VN junkie, but man, I am going in with low standards now.

Dang, by the sound of it Root Double isn't that great. I got it off a Humble Bundle and it sounded interesting, so I'm sad it isn't so great.

There is technically more I could add to my BL from my brother's games, but I'll just do it on a "which ones I've installed" basis, 'cause my brother has picked up some weird games from bundles. (And not even my usual sort of weird, either!)
