I wouldn't say it's the GBA itself so much as its the kind of d-pad it uses that lends to how tightly CotM can control. Switch (and even PS4/5 to a certain extent) have controllers that are pretty good for this. I imagine with XBox controllers it winds up being an issue with the more flexible d-pad leading to potential input issues if your inputs are 100% precise (or if you're using analog sticks worse still). Still even with all that, CotM's movement and general gameplay is definitely something of an acquired taste as it does take time to really get used to especially when compared to other CV titles.

OoE is just a neat game. Really big fan of how absolutely wild the boss fights get. They might actually be some of my favorite fights in the series just on presentation alone.

How is the Castlevania series treating you? I really would love to find the time/priority to get into it, but only played the original on the NES and the first one on the N64!
