Both games appear to be tied together. Deltarune is not complete yet - two of at least five of the games chapters are currently available - so we don’t know the whole picture yet.

Obviously, Undertale is a more complete experience at the moment. Both titles are absolutely worth playing, and I would strongly recommend starting at the beginning.

Hey there, it has been awhile!
I would highly recommend playing Undertale before jumping into Deltarune. You’ll experience the natural progression of Undertale’s mechanics and characters into Deltarune.

And here is a spoilerly tip if you want to know the best way to play both games: Don’t kill **any** enemies, no matter what.
