I’m really enjoying it. When I first started I wasn’t really feeling it, but it’s turning out to be a similar situation to God of War (2018) where I kind of struggled with it but once the combat clicked with me, it became really enjoyable. I’m not the biggest fan of open world games but I’m glad this game’s world isn’t huge and they were pretty restrained when it comes to the number of collectables.

I put a good amount of time into it this weekend and made some progress in the main scenario which has now been throwing a ton of fun level design and combat scenarios at me. I’m also glad I waited to play this until I got my new TV and a PS5. I never upgraded from my base model PS4, so experiencing this in 4K is a treat. It’s honestly one of the most graphically impressive games I’ve ever played. The HDR is stunning too. Really hyped for the sequel now.

What did you think of it?

Whatever you do, please don't quit with a random character end regarding AI: The Somnium Files. Everyone needs to see the true ending imo. Trust me, it won't disappoint!

By the time you're ready to tackle S+, Mr. X honestly won't be a concern. He's not a huge threat once you've figured out how his mechanics work as there's, as far as I can tell, 3 rooms he won't enter. There's one choke point area where he can be a real pain in the ass but it's easy to cheese, just need to be patient.

I think the biggest concern is the time and limited saves. For S+ on Hardcore you need to finish within 2:30 and no more than 3 saves and you cannot use unlimited ammo weapons. In my opinion the 3 places to save are pretty standard throughout the run and if you screw up you need to reload instead of the continue option as it will accumulate time that way. I won't lie and say the run is easy, but I saved Hardcore for last so it was my 7th and 8th runs respectively when I went to do it and the 2nd Hardcore run in particular was super smooth.
