Excellent, there's someone else on this planet that actually enjoyed Drakengard! Granted, I'm probably the world's worst sucker for hack 'n slash games, but I thought it was a fun romp with a not entirely predictable story and a fun world they created.

I wish AM2 (if they still exist?) would make a new Fantasy Zone game or something~ Between Outrun 2 and Afterburner Climax, they've proven that they're the only part of Sega that can still make consistantly awesome and beautiful games. :3

A new Cotton game would be nice too~ Even though I've barely played a single Cotton game, I love the style of it just from seeing videos and screenshots!

Hmmm... gauging this game is kind of a toughie. Let me see if I can best sum it up so far.

SoD is a bit of a mixed bag. It's not the most perfect RPG out there, and sometimes it feels like it's too easy, and then there's times when it can get aggravating when the AI is spamming attack after attack on you and just wailing one character or the entire party down. The plot can be suspect, too, if you're expecting something grand.

But, it's really not a bad game. While I do wish the difficulty was more balanced, maybe even slightly hard, sometimes it's kind of a good thing you get hit with 1 HP of damage most of the time when enemies physically attack you, given the circumstances of the game's battle system.

I will say the characters do have some personality to them. Far as I'm concerned, the protagonists are likable, and the setting is interesting for a change from the standard RPG plot. Even if your mileage may vary, it's worth a look and as long as you don't set your expectations too high, it can be an interesting experience.

Hope that helps. Speaking of Radiant Historia, I should try that sometime too, since a friend of mine mentioned it can be kind of fun.

I got Rockin' Kats offa Amazon for about 6 bucks I think. It has nasty-ass marker all over it though.

Sadder than Mother 3? I really must play BoF 3 and Valkyrie Profile. I won't lie about Vagrant Story, I didn't fully understand the battle system at all even afte finishing the game!

I don't really think the translation is all that's wrong with the game although it really is terrible. The battle system gets gradually more annoying as the additions get longer and the enemies take more hits. Storywise it tries to hard to be FFVII but fails badly and is so cliche. The lavitz scene was laughably bad. I think you should take up Vagrant Story since you chose LoD over it! LoD was a hard game to finsih even when I played it I was lapping up ever JRPG I could get my hands on good or bad. It put me off playing JRPGs and it was 6 months before I could stomach another one

How are you finding LoD?

They're all games I want to finish playing and doing things on but haven't yet god but yeah I should work on trimming it down. It's just if I remove them from there I feel like I'll forget about even trying at all.

As I said LoD fans are clinically insane. :P Thought the battle system and story were the worst part. The story seemed like it was decided by commitee as an attempt to capture the FF7 crowd and the battle system is so slow it kills any pace. It's not a totally terrible game but it's just got so little that stands out that it redefines bland. I don't purposefully play bad RPGs but LoD is far and away the worst I've played.

You really should have went for Vagrant Story, now that game really is a masterpiece.

Legend of Dragoon was an awesome game. Lots of story on the characters, fun combat system, and just an overall interesting story.

WTF? You're actually going to play Legend of Dragoon, a game I regard as one of the most boring, unimaginative, soulless, contrived, uninteresting and cynical games ever made. Well good look with that. The only thing worse than the game is its fans!
