Gave Subnautica another try. Got it working by verifying integrity of game files. Turns out a lot of files had issues. Now all works ok. Which is great because I'm having a super fun time after coming back to it. It feels like I'm in love with gaming again. It's a pity I have trouble feeling this way about the other games I'm playing or new games. But I'm having fun and that's what's important.

It's great exploring and learning more efficient ways to craft and gather materials. I'm even using a nice little guide which includes shopping lists for the materials I need for various things. Making progress a lot faster than the previous times I played. Already have all the basic tools + the seamoth and getting ready to go to both the floating island and Aurora.
