I've surprisingly spent a lot less on video games in the last couple of months than I typically do. Maybe that's because of all the chaos that was going on in my life, or because I just stuck to enjoying things I already had access to like FFXIV and Genshin, but also needing to budget a bit better due to life expenses. I see you've gone down the Stellar Blade rabbit hole atm, I've been hearing a lot of good things about it so perhaps I'll get to play once I actually own a PS5. :3

It's making me laugh because you mentioned the FF marathon and here I am now binging the entire Castlevania series. xD I said I was going back to FF marathon soon but many other things distracted me and I am having way too much fun with Castlevaia to put it down, especially SOTN. Not going to be playing the N64 games though because those are uh.. not fun to play on an emulator I don't think plus my boyfriend said they were awful. But we've still got plenty of handheld games + Bloodlines to go through after SOTN so HYPE! o/ I see you've beaten the Anniversary Collection so I'm curious about your opinion on those.

Hopefully sometime in the next few months I'll be selling off the physical games I no longer need/want, but I don't think I wanna go the eBay route. It worked last time but seller fees and stuff aren't fun to deal with.. I'd rather sell to someone locally and avoid all that hassle.

As for whether I'd suggest FFIX due to having playing XIV I would say that Dawntrail is pulling a lot of classic elements from entries like FFIX so I think you'd enjoy it a lot, yes. But FFIX is a great game on it's own so even without the XIV experience I think you'll like it. Also has some amazing music so even more reason to dive into it.. As for how long it took me to finish it off I sometimes (less now since I stopped pressuring myself to play certain stuff) do this thing where I'll dump 30 hours into something and then poof, just stop. Then six months later I pick it up and go "Where was I?"

Surprisingly in Genshin Impact news I’ve stopped playing for now. Still really love and enjoy the game, have plenty of story, side quests, exploration, etc. to do in it but I’ve reached the point now where I’m very happy/content with the characters I’ve pulled for. I’ve gotten all the ones I want, except maybe Klee, and then some extra bonus ones like Navia. Last character I grabbed (with no guarantee pity to boot!) was Nuevilette and that was the hydro crown on the Genshin cupcake. Been dumping random primos on random banners since then and not caring if I have enough saved up because I know I have a good roster of amazing characters already. ^_^ Feels really freeing too not to feel like I need to get on to do dailies, battle pass, etc. so maybe once the urge comes back I’ll get back on the grind but for now it sits as a pretty icon on my desktop.

P3R was definitely a good time, and a better overall experience for me than the original. Some of the musical changes took time to grow on me but they eventually did and I ended up loving them so yay. Metaphor seems like it’s gonna have some good music too, so double yay.

Haven’t gotten to Atelier Ryza yet but you can blame Castlevania for that one. :P Anywho, I hope you’ve been well friend and that all your gaming has been a good time since the last time we spoke. ♥ And if you celebrate the holiday, Happy early Mother’s Day.

Thanks, I'm most definitely enjoying it a ton! The movement especially is super impressive, not something you'd expect from FromSoft knowing their other games honestly! I just hope I can handle what it's going to throw at me later on. Reaction time in your thirties isn't quite what it used to be, haha! All my Souls experience isn't going to help me much there either.

I haven't picked up Elden Ring yet because I prefer playing Souls games once with all the DLC to fully finish in one go, but I also needed to get Sekiro out of the way before I can treat myself to that.

Ryza 2 is also going great, love the improvements to the battle system in particular! Taking a break between the two games also helped a lot since I went so crazy completionist with the first game.

Oh and hope you enjoy Stellar Blade! Looking on from the sidelines this time as I haven't bought a PS5 yet and I'm not even sure I'll go for a PS5 Pro at this point. Patiently waiting for that PC port, then.
