Combat was a little hard for me at first until I realized the healing items were OP. Staminan Royale FTW. Love how you could just take random items off the street and bash thugs over the head with them. Karoke is great. And the dozens of sub stories that you run into. Actually got into trouble when I decided to max out the real estate and cabaret sub stories. Spent hours and hours in those but I had fun.

Ah, true. It seems like they've already met at the start of Kiwami (remake of 1) too but I think there's one game in the series that tackles the time between them. I can't remember which one though. My complaint more was the transition from normal Majima to crazy Majima felt rushed like a lot of things at the end. Majima is definitely bananas in Kiwami. He kinda takes the place of Mr. Shakedown in that he'll be a random boss fight in the streets. And the way he shows up can be very unexpected and hilarious.

Warning - Kiwami 1 is a big downgrade coming off of Yakuza 0. It hits a lot of the same beats but not as good. And the combat felt..rough. I played through it for the lore mostly and.. Majima. Majima definitely carried that game for me.

Saw that you beat Yakuza 0. What did you think of it? I played it for the first time last year and loved it. Slowly making my way through the series..I need to pick up Kiwami 2 again.

But you can basically say that about the whole game. So many returning characters, so many references to other franchises and so much meta humor.
And of course the post credit scene!
