That's actually fairly understandable. Typically the plot in FF games kind of tanks towards the end of each game. The only ones I think that are consistently strong from start to finish without feeling extremely convoluted are VI and X. Also they're all pretty darn long, even by RPG standards.

With that said, it's still my 4th favorite franchise and I've enjoyed all of them that I've played so far.
