An even easier character is Ibuki. She has a ton of useful moves like Neck Breaker and I forgot what the other one was called but it was like a kick combo. Eh, I'm too lazy to get the manual.
Tsujigoe is useful for dodging, though I don't use it too much. Reminds me of El Fuerte's crappy and hard to use running move. Challenge Mode or Trial Mode or whatever it's called should help anyway. It usually helps me get used to the controls and stuff like that. Just choose a character and as soon as you complete all of the trials/challenges with them, you'll be a pro.

I'll keep it in mind if I need more 3DS games (since the selection isn't very big so far). Right now I'm waiting for Animal Crossing, Super Mario, Kingdom Hearts and Ocarina of Time. I can't believe Mario wasn't a launch title but Street Fighter was...
