Like it says on the tin, except instead of World Destruction from the original JP, it's Sands. Guess "world" being destroyed was too dark even if it's 100% fictional... appreciate how the humans and beastmen just coexist in the world as a given, good lore, none of that isekai crap for world logic. Battles are surprisingly complex and the overall game is meticulously crafted for 2008. Playing the Undub version. 
Started 1/2/2024 - controls were hard to get used to at first (emulated Wiimotes in dolphin are extremely gimmicky) being the first of the "endless runner" age of Sonic. The environment & character design really took notes from 06 (if 06 had more dev time it likely would have been finalized with a more SatSR look esp for the humans and improved textures for the rest of the cast) while the OST took a lot of cues from Rush imo.
