Something me and some friends on SomethingAwful are doing is a platinum trophy leaderboard. Just for fun. You basically get points for your rarest plat for each of the 26 letters (articles can be used/ignored without penalty). I'm currently mid-table with 66 points out of a possible 130. It's kind of a dumb fun addition to playing games and chasing trophies. My list is in a comment on my wall if you want to see the games and the rules. Might be your kind of thing.

Bioshock is a great series for sure. I hope you're able to get all of the online trophies in Bioshock 2's online mode. Are there still people playing that on PS3?

I would love to help out with those Journey trophies, but unfortunately, I don't have PS+ right now.

I know, right?! Too many games and not enough time to actually or them!

If you end up trying out any of those games, I would love to hear your thoughts on them.

I see you finished up Sea of Stars recently, and your review of it makes me think I should probably check it out soon. I have finished very few turn-based RPGs in my life, but I do enjoy games in the genre when they're well-made and the mechanics aren't too dated.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with not having played any good new games this year, and I hear you about not having enough time for gaming anymore. In all honesty, with having less gaming time available I find it's generally better to stick to playing highly rated games I missed out on from years prior anyway. Good call on Bioshock! I loved that game when it came out and keep meaning to replay it. Are you enjoying the sequel so far? Will you be checking out Infinite afterwards?

I played through Abzu a few years ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. Have you played Journey? If not, you should definitely check it out. Similar vibe, but it's a better game overall, imo.

I still haven't checked out the newer Spider-Man games yet, but I really should. I figure I will check it out after I finish Ghost of Tsushima, though with my limited gaming time I can't imagine that will be happening any time soon. Enjoy Spider-Man 2 when it comes out!

Honestly, there isn't a whole lot coming out that has me too excited, minus Silk Song (and who knows when that will actually be released ) and Mina the Hollower. I may also check out the remake of Super Mario RPG, but we'll see.

As for indie games, I recently caught up on some of the biggest indie releases that I missed out on, and I had a blast doing it! I know these are considered the most well-known indie games, but if you have not checked out Shovel Knight, Undertale, Celeste, Stardew Valley, or Hollow Knight I highly recommend them all! What Remains of Edith Finch was really special too, if you haven't played it yet.

Oh, wow. I'm not used to getting comments on my page anymore, so I didn't notice yours for quite some time. I'm sorry about that.

I've been doing good. Gaming progress has kinda ground to a halt these days though. What little time I do have to play, I spend it playing the same games over and over again. They don't really have any or status to them either. I've been buying stuff still, especially during the chaos of Nintendo's eShop doomsday. When Sony and Microsoft shutter the PS3/Vita/Xbox 360 digital storefronts, all hell is going to break loose...again.

I'm doing good! I've been staying pretty much indoors for most of the pandemic, so my family hasn't been exposed to Covid-19. I unfortunately suffered a minor house fire in 2017, so I lost a fair amount of games. Luckily the damage was mostly isolated in the basement(Where my game room is located). So I've been steadily rebuilding my collection bit by bit. I just recently got a GBA SP, so I've been nabbing all kinds of games for that awesome little handheld lately.

I was tempted to finally buy Costume Quest 2 and play it this October. Also, I was looking at my game collection to play a Spooktober game this year, and once again I thought,
"Will this be the year that I play Dead Space?"

I went with Final Fantasy XIII. For whatever reason, playing a Final Fantasy game during October became a tradition for me.

But then my t.v. died. Now it's hard to play anything on a shared t.v.

That was a great line, yeah! My main problem was how difficult it was to actually feel empathy for the main characters. They were pretty much all assholes, aside from Sam, for pulling that prank on Hannah that indirectly lead to her death and her sister's, yet they're all still completely self-absorbed and unrepentant. Like, we're supposed to care if a bunch of rich, selfish kids get killed?

Granted, my perspective is definitely colored by growing up poor and unpopular, ha ha.

Pretty much. The game had its strong points, but subtlety and originality definitely weren't two of them. How did you like it, overall?
