To be fair, it's like every other open world game out there, since I don't play them because I just hate open world games it was kinda fresh to me, but yeah it was mediocre. Still every main story mission or squad mission was on the same level as Mass Effect 2 or 3, wich was great, exploration was boring, but not as bad as Mass Effect 1. I played it after patch 1.05, so it wasn't glitchy at all, after 90 hours I had 1 architect glitch (he was stuck, frozen in place, but his moves and fight kept going, was a pain to kill), and 2 missions buged, the one for making a shield for the Nomad and another with a Angara that gave you at the Nexus Museum, forgot the mission name, the one about Angara elite training. Oh also the Archon Sword buged for me too near the end of the game and I had to reload my checkpoint, but it was cool, to be fair EVERY western game that I played has either frozen on me or had a stupid glitch at least once, I kinda expect it already. Not being a weeaboo or anything but at least japanese games are tested, or maybe since there is a time before it is released here they are patched already, still....
But yeah I agree with a lot of the criticism and see why people wouldn't like it, I just can't agree with critics to the combat, wich is pretty refined (like RE 6, a lot of people hated it, but the gameplay was the best in the after RE4 era) and to the story, wich well, ain't bad at all.
Give it another try, I believe they fixed everything pretty much, try to focus more on the story missions, maybe you'll have a blast, maybe you will just hate it by the end. It is a divisive game that's for sure, and yeah it was probably rushed at release, still I replayed the trilogy before playing Andromeda, and by today standards, 1 has aged REALLY bad, 2 and 3 still are great though, but Andromeda is more of the same actually, 2 and 3 mission structure, kinda inspired by 1 exploration.
Btw soon I'll face Dragon Age 2, and I got Inquisition already, I'll give you a shout after I play them
