well, basically like how emulators work, where if you screw up, you can just reload to the last spot you saved in, regardless of whether there is a save feature in-game anyways

must be a lot of hard work, considering you need to start fresh. but hey, it'll be worth it if you manage to get it done soon enough, right? besides, considering you have gotten the other achievements, i wouldn't worry too much for yourself.

hm, considering the save states have been implemented in their updates, might as well give it a run and see if i can beat it. though i still have a bucket list of some games i still need to beat and some i need to buy

It's even worse in Super Mario 3D Land! Got to well over 100 lives in no time, and now I hear that there will be literally millions of coins in NSMB 2.
Where's the challenge, you know? At least in SMB, the coins slowly got fewer and fewer and 1UPs were scarce.
Maybe they'll up the 1UP amount to 1000 or something like that.

That's a good idea about the coins. It's funny, you sort of forget about them sometimes because you're concentrating so hard on barrelling through the game.

Glad I'm not the only one who took that long!
The only warp zone I used was one I found accidentally, I'd forgotten it was even there! It was the one at the end of 4-2 that takes you only to 5-1, so I didn't miss much.
I'll admit, as I was using the 3DS version, I *cough* may have *cough* used a couple of save states, but I didn't really have to use them much until the last couple of worlds.
I still endeavour to some day beat the game properly on my NES, mind.

Ah. Well, maybe I'll be able to get it by then.

I just got them because they were free, honestly. If it makes you feel any better, I probably won't get to them for a long time. Heck, I'll probably forget about them and eventually delete them.

I've never had to, but from what I've read, the batteries are fairly easy to replace.

Eh, I'm not in too much of a hurry to get them right now. I've still got the entire Zero and Battle Network games here to play through and the first ZX game.

I still need to get around to getting X7 and X8. Whenever I find one though, it's usually pretty pricey.
