Yeah, that'll do it; probably even more of a holiday game than my usual choice, which is select entries from the Yakuza series. You know: just like Die Hard is my favorite Christmas movie. I guess if you want a real answer, I'd say Daze Before Christmas, because it's so balls-to-the-wall goofy; I'm not even sure what they were going for.

Sure am! They're a bit more involved than cookies and the other stuff I usually make, but there are surprisingly few ingredients; the only real pain in the ass is that they take 4-5 hours to make. Also, don't try the dough; it's kinda like wet rubber with a hint of peanut butter, because there's no sugar in it.

I usually don't, either, but this year, I was struck by the spirit of the season: costumes and candy. Funny you should say that: I know that the Dead Rising games are more over-the-top, but the dark, gritty horror that people usually associate with Halloween always struck me as more of a dead-of-winter type of thing.

Oh yeah, that is a tough age; siblings always seem to fight for some reason. My problem was that I was an only child in a family of 4; I just wanted to be left the fuck alone, but my sister IDOLIZED me. That was a mistake, too, because I was a pretty terrible role model, except maybe that I didn't drink or smoke or anything, but she was the wild one, so she found all that on her own anyway.

But yeah, things are fine here for now; going to probably be up until the wee hours of the morning baking dog biscuits - maybe not my first choice, but it's a pretty decent side hustle - but you know me: when the hell have I ever gotten a decent night's sleep, anyway?

I've been thinking about playing it for Halloween for years now, and I figured now would be a good time. Second one is taking a bit longer than I'd remembered, but we can extend the season a day or two; why not? Doing pretty well here (about to go out and celebrate Discount Candy Day!); just plugging away at the Mountain of GOG, which is finally under 100 games. Hope all is well in your world. 💜

That was one of the things that annoyed me about the Cold Steel series. As good as the gameplay is, the characters talk and talk and talk and talk and talk. It's really trying to desperately be an anime series that you actually play. Even worse, there's no autoplay button, so unlike Persona, you don't have the option to automatically proceed to the next bit of dialogue. I couldn't handle it, so I stopped by the second game.

You really appreciate games like Shining Force II when there's a perfect amount of dialog without overstaying its welcome. You don't need an autoplay for that because the characters stop talking right before it gets annoying. I guess Grandia and Lunar are the same way.
