The music in the Ar tonelico series is by far the best of any series out there to me. It's the biggest highlight of the series for sure. The creator of the series pretty much invented a language to go along with the world. When you hear singing in the game it's not Japanese it's a language called hymmnos although there are some Japanese songs too. There's different dialects of hymmnos and it's so deep. The world and history of the series is so much deeper than what's showed in the games. There's a lot of supporting books and drama CD's that build upon the games and the series as a whole. I did meet my husband because of the series so that's another thing It's just a wonderful series of games and you can go so much deeper than the games if you choose to.

If you played Atelier Iris the first two Ar tonelico games will feel very familiar because they're from the same developer, Gust. Concept wise they're very different though. Item crafting is still a pretty big thing though which is a huge thing in the Atelier games. It plays a nice role in the Ar tonelico games too though. I think you'll enjoy it just seeing the other series you like.

I see you also have Ar nosurge on the PS3 which is a successor to the Ar tonelico series. Very awesome game too. I recommend playing it after finishing the main three Ar tonelico games.

Hello there, fellow JRPG fan Always nice to meeting another person who is passionate about this genre. And plays several different kinds of JRPG's. I'll pretty much try most things honestly. And I do enjoy some other genres as well. But yeah, my backlog of games grew while I was in college. I didn't have time at all to play stuff then. Once I got out of college and got a full time job I had this huge backlog of games on my hands. I've been slowly working my way through it while also getting new games and beating those at the same time. I don't play much during the week because of work. I'll play portable stuff then in the evening and more console stuff on the weekend. In general I don't get to play as much as I'd like to But you definitely collect more games than I do. Though between me and my husband our collection is probably pretty solid

It is difficult once life gets busy trying to play all these games. I know the feeling all too well. More and more games that I want keep getting announced too. I've been wanting to get into the LoH series. I've heard many good things about it. I was thinking of starting with Trails in the Sky which I think was released on Vita in Japan with extra stuff. But yeah, so many great games coming out this year and next year. I've got Zestiria all pre-ordered for sure.

The Ar tonelico series is very close to my heart for several reasons. The characters are some of the best I've seen in a series. There's deep development especially for the main female heroines but even some of the side characters have a great story to tell. It's easy to get attached to the characters because you learn so much about them. And sometimes you may see an ugly side to them but that's what makes them so human. We can all relate to that. The first game doesn't have as much sexual innuendo as the others do. I mean, it's all in good fun. Though the third game does get a little extreme in that department due to one major battle mechanic. The second game has a terrible localization which is a shame because it's my favorite one. The people on the forum I'm a part of retranslated the game and have a patch for it.

I know I keep meaning to play it I just have sooooo many games I need to clear of my backlog that I haven't gotten round to it yet I had heard that Jude's story was better which was why I did Milla's first to get it over and done with

I have played the first one in a while but when I did I played Milla's story instead of Jude's (really need to get back and do it but too many games too little time). I will say that it is hard to explain without spoilers but I will say that Alvin (who is my favourite character in this game) has a lot to be revealed and all does get explained. As for Muzet you know more than me as she turns up much later in Milla's story.
As for Nachtigal he was being used by Gilland just to get the Lance of Kresnik built so he was just a pawn in the grand scheme of things. Yes Celsius is a spirit but what sort of spirit get revealed later on and why she is with Gilland is also explained.
Sorry if it is a little vague I just don't want to reveal any spoilers but I hope it is some help to you. If you have any more questions just let me know and I will try and answer them

I've always seen Rogue Galaxy but it never seemed to capture my attention enough for me to buy it. I might take a look now that you've recommended it.

Yeah there is different features since ToS is based on the PS2 version. I don't know the official list but there is a whole lot more then what they originally gave us when the Gamecube gave us. You should be able to use those costumes as soon as they detected you have the saves or unlock it normally. I don't have the game yet, but since its ToS. I assume its probably how Tales of The Abyss did and it its tied to your titles. So go to status and go to title and see if see if you can change them there.

Is ToZ2 Tales of Xillis 2? If it is then I don't know. Its still TBA and with ToS Chronicles only just got release it probably be a while before they announce a date.

Edited: I can confirm it now, you can change costumes from the Status section. You can change costumes by going to your “Menu”, selecting the “Status” sub-menu, and then changing the “Title” that’s shown underneath the character’s name. Changing a character’s “Title” to one that describes a character from another Tales game will switch their outfit to the new costume. For example: To wear Genis’s Luke costume, select a “Title” named ‘Noble Son’.
