Guess what? I tried the direct connection to my TV with a new high quality cable and DJMAX works fine! I don't fell off time anymore and can play quite well now, already got a bunch of A scores (I couldn't go past B before) and it even sparked my fire for the game again! About my TV, you gave me an idea! My setup goes through a HDMI switch, a splitter and a capture card so the latency my be due to one of those, I'll try a direct connection to see if it improves cause that does mess a lot with the image output (that I generally don't care for normal games)

With PS3 (July 2nd) and Vita (August 27th) stores shutting down I'm prioritizing games from those systems (to iron out any DLC I want, and to avoid having to struggle against the download list in the future). So digital only games for those platforms first, then maybe I'll continue into physical (or continue into a mix of platforms from there).

I'll probably drop everything for Neptunia Re:Verse in June though

When I first got my PSP, I picked up DJMAX Portable on a whim with no idea what it was and got completely hooked. I had played a lot of DDR in college, but DJMAX really solidified rhythm games as one of my favorite genres. I just picked up Portable 2 finally, so I think Respect is the last one I'm missing - I'm sure it'll be way too difficult for me, but looking forward to the challenge. I'm happy to find another fan!

I see you have the Persona Dancing games too - those are also amazing! Their soundtracks have joined the DJMAX soundtracks in permanent rotation on my playlist. I'll have to catch up to you on beating those!

Yeah, I hear you. It's been a while since I dipped my toes into the core game of P5, but I think as it's been long enough I'll end up really enjoying it. I have to say I am loving Strikers, it's so much fun. I feel like I could talk endlessly about the characters you have here that I also love (Samus, Miku, Kurisu, Morrigan in particular), but honestly all of them look really cool. I can see what you meant about having most of them be decorative. A torture museum? Wow, that sounds grizzly. I'm glad you decided to utilize the souvenir in the best way, which is to say putting it beneath a hot anime girl's butt. Don't feel guilty for using money to make yourself happy, I think you should just enjoy the views for now. I know how you feel though, I always feel that way when I shell out for some games, too. Thanks for the info about DQ11 and Xbox stuff - I'll pass it on. I really loved FF13 so that would be nice to revisit with the enhancements again as I haven't played it in years. I've been having bad insomnia problems the last couple of weeks now that my job wound down, so when my body isn't trying to re-adjust to an actually normal sleep schedule I've been playing a lot of FF7R which I am loving tons. It's so surreal to see everything in glorious graphics compared to Cloud in his polygonal glory. Have you been playing much lately? I've got to do some more work now, but I hope you're doing well!

Thank you! Work has definitely calmed down significantly now thankfully, but it's still looming on the horizon as it so often does, lol. Oh man, I've been really enjoying Senran Kagura, which I never thought I would! I grabbed three of the games in the big PS4 sale, so I've really got a lot to be getting on with much to my delight. I've always been a fan of all-girl rosters if only for the waifu/yuri potential, but getting to actually play a game based around it that isn't a mobage is a lot of fun. It's nice to just hang out with games that are totally shameless sometimes! I've never tried Oneechanbara, but I'd really like to. Which figurines did you get? I tried to indulge in figures a few years ago and it bled me dry, so I had to drop that very quickly.

I have all of them up to Y5 I think, but mostly just because I got them for cheap in various deals. I've also been meaning to play the Atelier games but I can never find them for a steal, so I'm just biding my time until one of them happens to be somewhere for a price I can afford without screaming after the purchase.

Damn, DQ11 is on Xbox Game Pass? That's awesome. My wife is a huge fan of DQ so I hear all about them even though I haven't played them myself. We've been trying to decide between getting a PS5 or the new Xbox when we have some more money to spare, and I have to say, the Game Pass has been making Xbox look way more tempting. With that said I've been dying for a PS5 so I hope we can eventually afford both!

Oh definitely when it comes to Arcade games, you just know so many of them were supposed to be quarter hogs. I think that people who could actually beat them in one sitting were remarkably impressive. I certainly couldn't. By the end of most of the ones I played over 2020 I lost count of how many times I'd died. And thanks! The Souls games were a really tough challenge, but I loved it so much. I'm working my way occasionally through DS3.

Deathsmiles was soooo good, it was such an unexpectedly great time. I feel like because we share so much similar taste of both scary ladies in somewhat gothic settings you'd probably really like it. Apparently they're making a new one soon which I'm super excited for.

Hello again! I'm so sorry for the late reply, I've been working like crazy through the holiday period, but I hope you had a good time (or at least an opportunity to relax)! I'm glad to hear you're doing okay though, sometimes it's nice to just kind of feel like you're doing fine. Did you take your vacation time since we last talked?

I hear you on the front of competitive games, I think the only thing I've ever been like that about is Overwatch (as you may remember as a fellow Devil!Mercy lover, haha). I'd love to play FE: Warriors if only specifically for Tharja, she looks so good in that game. We got Tokyo Mirage Sessions in my house for Christmas this year though and she's in that, so I'm glad I'll get my fix somehow! Fire Emblem is great though, it's something really fun to sink your teeth into. I think because it's such a timesink of a game you definitely have to be in the mood, though. I really enjoyed some of the older ones but god they are hard! What about you, did you get anything new recently?

I'm happy to hear that we share the same sentiment where games is concerned, I personally hate hopping around too. Not that there's anything wrong if someone else chooses to do that, it's just not for me, either. I definitely think that it's more worth it to pour some time into one or two than to hop around a lot. I used to do it a lot when I would sink *all* of my free time into FFXIV, but now that's died down a little again I can play other games as much as I want. Last year I devoted tons of time to thoroughly completing the Souls games and it was a fantastic time. With that said (and from the next part of your comment actually!) I got really into Neo Geo and Arcade games this year, but they were pretty easy to beat on the grand scale of things.

So yes! There were quite a few things that stood out to me from Neo Geo! I absolutely LOVED the Metal Slug series, it was fantastic. NG introduced me to run 'n gun as well as beat 'em ups - I'd never really played either before, but my wife loves older games so I'd seen them in passing. There was another game I played called Crossed Swords which was really cool but it was super long for what it was. I imagine if you actually played that in an Arcade it would be a real quarter hog!

My other standout game from Arcade stuff in general this year was Deathsmiles, though I imagine you'd have heard of that? It strikes me as something you'd love haha. Hope you're well, and Happy New Year too
